Homework for October 2

Many people think that is is important to go to a school only to focus and study one specific topic. But why do that when you can go to a school and get an education that will give you important life skills and knowledge that will help you succeed on any path life takes you? Many people change their majors a couple times before finding what is right for them, so if you go to a school where you are only taught one specific thing and everything is based off of that topic, you cannot really change your major. If you go to a liberal arts school, you can change your major and explore many topics and ideas before picking one. Yes, we do need people to go to these specific, one focus, colleges because those people are just as important , like doctors, engineers, farmers, without them we would not have half of the things we do today. But even those people who chose those paths could benefit from aspects of liberal arts degrees.

People think that a liberal arts degree does not set you up for success, when in reality it can benefit you in amen different ways. They teach you many different skills, meaning you could be qualified for many different jobs. Critical thinking, philosophy, psychology, math, etc.. You can use these skills to study people and learn how to please them, and offer knew ideas with the hopes of getting promoted, and you can sound smart when you bring up some cool philosopher that not many people know about. There are more than one benefit to a liberal arts degree. If you were an engineer, you’re only qualified for that one specific job, but with the liberal arts you can do anything.
