Writing Portfolio Reflection:

Writing Portfolio Reflection:

  • What piece makes you most proud and why?

The piece that makes me the most proud is my mentor text. I haven’t wrote about that before and I really like how I put it together and it kind of came out like a story.

  • Where did you achieve your goals?

In the quick writes I got to do more creative writing and I really enjoyed that.

  • Where do you see yourself struggling?

Some of the quick write prompts were hard for me because I couldn’t think of anything to write about. I need to stop focusing so much on what I am writing about and instead just start writing.

  • What does your writing reveal about you as a writer?

I think it shows that I need to work on informational writing because I do like writing narratives and stories more than I like writing informational pieces. I can also get very opinionated in persuasive writing if the topic is something I feel strongly about.

  • What does your writing make you think about you as a teacher of writing?

I have many different strategies I use when writing, especially when I have to write something I really don’t want to write. This will help me relate to my students and provide them strategies and skills to use when writing for assignments they aren’t interested in.

  • What risks did you take?

Some risks I took was writing about some meaningful things and having to share them with my partner. I don’t really like sharing my writing because I’m not that confident in it.
