For this assignment I had to write a two page response to the book “A Child Called It.” There really were no guidelines or prompt/questions to answer, it was just write a two page response to this book. I really hated this book. I honestly do not really cry but this book made me cry a lot. It also made me really angry and I almost threw up at times. I would highly recommend this book but honestly I hate this book. I think everyone should read this book to get an understanding of everything that is happening, or could happen, to a child. There needs to be a better awareness of child abuse and signs of it. People need to be able to step in more and help a child, I know there are rules for a reason but in situations like the one in the story, we need to be able to not go through the system and someone needs to be able to step in and make a larger difference than the efforts in the story. I know in the end(beginning) he was taken, but it needed to happen sooner.
