Should classrooms be separated by gender?
Classrooms should not be separated by gender. If kids were separated by gender throughout their educational career and they were not allowed to combine classes or talk to other genders, once they graduate they would have no idea how to respect or communicate with the opposite gender. This would hinder relationships and work places. Work places are not just one gender. In a workplace, everyone is supposed to be equal, and if young girls and guys who just graduated are sent out into the workforce they won’t know how to problem-solve together because they never got the chance to in school. They wouldn’t really know how to talk to each other. Younger males are more likely to be rougher when communicating with each other, while females tend to be more nice and fake. Another problem that occurs when separating classrooms by gender is dress code. Some adults, and teachers, think girls dress provocatively and that girls should not be allowed to dress how they want because it is distracting to their sons. I think this idea would just be supported if classrooms were separated. I don’t see any benefits of separating classrooms, it just makes it harder for people to socialize and work together outside of the classroom. Classrooms are benefited by the different people in the room. Everyone is different and has different opinions, a lot of the time it’s guys versus girls at young ages, and having those differences of opinions and different peoples really creates a diverse learning environment. It helps teach people how to be inclusive and work together even if you don’t agree on some things.
